Building with Bricks

. . .and that's how I spent my base phase and created world peace!
Whew! Where did the base phase go? My last post was in October, pathetic! It truly has been a blur! I left my job I'd had for 15 years (That has to be 150 in Silicon Valley years!) Then I started a new job. Then the Holidays hit. And the off season blues seemed to hang around and sap my workout enthusiasm. I managed to keep riding , did a lot of yoga and tried to figure out my new commute. Which I still haven't figured out-- wild fluctuations every day, anywhere from 20 minutes to 65 minutes! Geesh! I'm finally feeling more settled but it'll be a while before it all feels familiar. And I want to sleep better. It's after 12:00 am and I'm still wide awake with no hope for sleep for a while. *frowns*
But give me one good weekend of fun workouts and I'm back in the saddle, literally! Last Sunday was brilliant! The sunshine and warm air probably had a lot to do with it too. It really felt like spring was in the air!
We rode a beautiful 45 mile loop from Pleasanton to Lake Del Valle, then across the Valley to the northern foothills and then back down to hte eastern foothills, past Castlewood and then back to Downtown Pleasanton.
Bizarre note of the weekend: Coming down a narrow valley in the foothills we passed the biggest, most GINORMOUS buffalo (or bison)I've ever seen.
Okay, time to try sleep again. I'm tired of the zoombie ads!!
