The Summit Room

So I just want to say that in previous seasons I have been somewhat intimidated by the spin nights at Sports Basement. Whether that was the sheer size of the store (aka warehouse), the idea of 30 crazy, insanely in shape current and future Ironpeople all madly cycling in tandem, or the terror of the hot, sweaty air (I have a thing about ventilation) . . . I never managed to get there in past seasons.

I went Tuesday night October 10, 2006. Write.It.Down

Not so bad. I stood next to the fan (which was also next to the food), got my bike queued up for a tune up (Thank you Chris) and explored the store. After watching the actual workout take place thanks to SUPPASTAR Co-Captains Dana, Mike & Steve I confronted the fact that I will NEVER be able to keep up with that craziness and have made that peace. And this was the very first practice.

Pushing forward I have obtained the requisite bike trainer, and am currently searching around with Dan and Ann's help for a bike rack of some kind for The Flea (my '91 Honda CRX).

On a less self-involved note . . . the team looked great!!! Great first turnout and lots of good questions asked (I tried to evesdrop as much as possible). You all seems to have a lot of excitement and I'm sure that will help carry each of you through the next 9 months.
