So many changes since the last time I wrote. At the time, I had started training for triathlons again, I signed up to do a marathon with Team in Training, and work was going pretty well. I may have thrown the marathon over for an Ironman by the time I wrote last time, but I dont recall.
Anyway, on Aug 4th, Dad was in a really bad jet-ski accident which caused spinal cord and brain injury. I've spent the last two months tending to Dad and family matters rather than training (or working). I think most everyone knows the details. Please ask me if you don't and are curious.
October 8th marked the beginning of the training season...again! I met with the IronTeam I will be working out with for the next 10 months! I think there are 50 of us and I think we all kick butt
:-). So far, everyone I have met is really nice and the staff seems to be totally committed to our success. I really didn't get this feeling when I was on the MTB team. Maybe since this is so huge (140.6 miles, 10 months, $8k) our staff to racer ration is better. By the schedule today is a day of rest but I will swim tonight as I am unable to swim on Wednesday.
I'll be using the training log on beginnertriathlete.com, my screen name is Mottyl, if you want to review my progress. I used to be really active there and I recommend it for anyone new.
